Introducing ikebana courses in NYC. All levels

Overwhelmed by the incredible positive feedback we received from our ikebana workshop and by our fans' popular requests, 7s Art is pleased to announce our ikebana course training program. 

Teamed up with renowned instructor Paula Tam, we provide three different courses tailored to your learning needs in various levels, including:

  • Three-Class Entry Course

   Class Agenda:

  1.    Acquire basic knowledge of the Origin of Japanese Ikebana, the “Ikenobo Ikebana”; 
  2.    Learn to use the combination of the basic art elements (such as the dot, line, and facet; and the shape, color and attribute of the materials) to express the idea in the final object; 

   Size: Small Class of 6-8 persons
   Tuition: $120/person

  • Six-Class Intermediate Course

   Class Agenda:

  1.    Acquire basic knowledge of the Origin of Japanese Ikebana, the “Ikenobo Ikebana”; 
  2.    Learn to use the combination of the basic art elements as included in the Entry Level Class; 
  3.    Understand the “flow of life” in the plants, and further learn to create the basic structure and combination of Ikebana to finish the final object;

   Size: Small Class of 4-5 persons
   Tuition: $230/person

  • Twelve-Class Advanced Course

   Class Agenda:

  1.    Include the contents of both Entry and Intermediate Courses, learning Ikebana from the beginning to an upper level; 
  2.    There are 18 Levels in the “Ikenobo Ikebana”; after these 12 classes, a student can enter into the 2nd Level of “Ikenobo Ikebana”, experiencing different flower arrangements; 
  3.    This course is not only suitable for students with zero experience, but also good for students with certain Ikebana background; the instructor will adjust the pace of classes based on the level of students; 

   Size: Small Class of 4-5 persons
   Tuition: $450/person

First class starts on September 21, please plan accordingly. 

Further Instructions:

  • Class Schedule: 7 ~ 9 PM EST, Every Wednesday. First class is on 21st Sep. Master Tam will select different types of fresh plant materials for the current season; Master Tam will also give the classes in different languages (Chinese, Cantonese ,English) and provide individual instructions based on the level of each student. 
  • Class Location: 265 West 37th Street, 16th Floor, New York, NY 10018
  • For those who are first exposed to Ikebana, we invite you to audit/sit in the class. We charge $20/person for each auditing experience. Auditing requires the online appointment in advance, and pays on the site. 
  • The class charge for each course options does not include the expenses for plans/flowers material, which will be decided and additionally charged by Master Tam, based on the prices of materials on the day of classes. 
  • Each student has one opportunity of a class leave and a makeup later without extra class charge.
